A Taiwanese-style fried chicken cutlet infused with the aroma of sesame oil and five-spice powder. Flattened and thin, creating a hand-sized cutlet with a visually striking appearance.
Ingredients (One Pack)
○Chicken breast : 200 g (about 7 oz)
○Karaage batter※ : 100 g(about 3.5 oz)
※prepared with water
○Tempura Batter Crisping Oil :10% of the dry karaage mix
○Five-spice powder : 1.5% of the dry karaage mix
Instructions
Halve the chicken breast and pound it to a thickness of 5 mm to 1 cm (about 1/4–3/8 inch).
In a bowl, whisk Tempura Batter Crisping Oiland five-spice powder into the dry karaage mix. Then add water and prepare the batter according to the package directions.
Coat the chicken from step 1 in the batter from step 2, letting any excess drip off. Deep-fry at 170 °C/340 °F for about 4 minutes 30 seconds, until golden brown and cooked through.
